Poem based on the short story “Love Must Not Be Forgotten”
By: Ari Neville, Block: A, English 11
True love is a mystery
Obvious fact or a misquote from the annals of history
Seems we will never know its true meaning
Is it carved into stone or just a simple feeling
Simple mathematical equation
Or the cause of human annihilation
In the end these questions really don’t matter
Through careless hands we've caused fragile love to shatter
We marry the ones we truly don’t love
An affront to love a direct shove
Time has caused us to lose our hearts careful process of
selection
To allow us to choose between fact or fiction
Looks over a lively
personality
Quantity over quality
Unknowingly we've nailed shut loves coffin
Love has fallen
Via dusty books it won’t be forgotten
